Yikes it's been 2 month since the last post! Well, Flynn is finally walking at 15 months; has been for about a month now. She's really moving, too! Always wandering around the house and

backyard, getting into sooo much mischief! She is the ornery one for sure. Ian always minded well, never got into trouble like she does! She likes to bring you her shoes or socks to put on her, but likes to run around without a shirt! She always tries to take it off. She points and grunts at things she wants and babbles a lot but no real words yet. She loves books although she has to turn the pages! She also is a dancing fool; she claps and bounces to any song and she and Ian have some favorites they really rock out to ;) She is also a giant for her age; at 15 months she is wearing 24 month clothing, some of that doesn't even fit and she dwarfs most of the kids her age we run into! Where do we get these big kids from??We just started a free week of swim lessons

and Flynn HATES it! I think the water may be too chilly, she fusses the whole time. We've been 3/5 days and think we will call it good till next summer!

Ian however LOVES his swim lessons! This free week he is refreshing in the class he took last summer and will move on to the next level for the 2 week class afterward. He is scared to put his face in the water to blow bubbles but otherwise loves the pool. He's doing great in pre-school, the teachers give us nothing but positive feedback on him! They say it really shows that we spend a lot of time with him at home, that he is smarter and more confident than his classmates and more well behaved! That makes us pretty proud. He has the hang of riding his tricycle around; we have even ridden to the store and back (about 10 minutes each way)! He is getting better in the KettleCar daddy built him and talks about wanting a 2 wheel bike for his birthday like all the

neighborhood kids. He is totally potty trained; very few accidents since getting the hang of it about 3-4 months ago! He's also staying tall for his age; he's been wearing 5T clothes since he turned 3!

We are loving watching the kids play together finally. Now that Flynn is walking, they really interact and play more together and its so sweet to watch them laugh with each other. Flynn is awake 1st in the morning and as soon as she hears Ian's bedroom door open, she runs down the hall to greet him ;) We hope it lasts!

Spring has sprung!

Saturday was our 1st 70 degree day and it was gorgeous!!! It was the day of the Easter Egg Hunt event and then we did some gardening afterwards. Not much to report right now but have lots of cute pics of course!

Potty training, preschool and bunk beds!

It's official: IAN IS POTTY TRAINED!! It's been 3 weeks since Ian finally got the hang of things, we are so proud! (and exhausted!) His big reward all along has been bunkbeds, and we assembled them last night; only took 2.5 hours! (now we're just waiting on the mattresses!) Ian loves them and once Flynn outgrows her crib she will occupy the bottom bunk!

Ian also started preschool 2 weeks ago; going 2 days a week, 3 hours a day and really likes it. The school is a 15 min walk from home so we go in the stroller.I am so excited to see Ian grow and thrive there. He's got a lot of energy and curiosity just waiting to be tapped further, and I think preschool will be great for him!

I told you last month that Miss Flynn took her 1st steps but she has only repeated that a couple times since. She is content to motor around on the floor, she certainly fast that way. Here she is playing in the cubby hole of the entertainment center.

March update

The Haworth kids are growing fast! Ian is 3.5 and getting to be quite the storyteller. He loves to pretend and you MUST play along! He assigns everyone a role from his favorite shows. He has really excelled in his alphabet, recognizing letters and signs wherever he goes. He will open favorite books and "read" them to himself. Daddy has started teaching him basic math with the aid of Skittles to help count and Ian has really liked that too. He loves making toy tracks for his toy motorcycles and usually plays behind his closed bedroom door so baby sister doesn't destroy all his hard work! He has taken hostage the Curious George doll GP Tom bought Flynn for Christmas; its his favorite doll. He treats him as his baby, wrapping him in his blankie and taking him in the car wherever we go. He's making great strides in potty training, even going #2 all on his own the other day. His big reward will be bunk beds and he can't wait! Miss Flynn tuned 1 on March 3rd!!! Here she is in her pile of birthday loot and with her slice of cake. Much to my disappointment, she didn't dive into the cake and smear it all over her head :(

She is so curious of everything around here, and she gets into it, too! She is equal parts ornery and lover. She is climbing over and on everything and she isn't scared of much. She chases me when I vacuum so she can touch the machine thats making so much noise! She also took her 1st steps this week!! She can stand and bend over to pick things up and creeps along the furniture all day so walking is around the corner! She says "mama" and "bebe" and lots of other babblings. She's a great eater, haven't found much she won't gobble down yet! She loves to clap and dance to music and play catch; she's got quite an arm! She's good at independent play now, we've got all the toys in the dining room and she can amuse herself there for quite a while. She wants nothing more than to play with big brother, but she is more of a bother to him right now :( We're helping them find the balance.

For some reason or another, Flynn HATES shoes. Especially these black ones I tried to put on her. Here's her dramatic reaction; pretty funny:

Having Lots of Fun

Flynn has really come into her own, a very strong willed, adventure baby! At the indoor playground we visit, she doesn't let anybody get in her way! she's the kid taking toys from others and screaming when toys are taken from her! she loves to climb stairs and the the playground equipment. Ian was a much more passive baby! Flynn is standing alone for longer periods and transferring her self from couch to coffee table a lot. She is most often in a playful, good mood now after all these long months of crankiness! She eats anything and everything, if you don't want it, Flynn will finish it! She loves Ian and wants to play with him. He is getting better at including her in his games. But she is getting great at occupying herself, too.

Ian is more full of energy than I could have imagined and has A LOT to say. Constantly. 24/7. He really likes playing characters from shows on TV and you must stay in character with him! Last week I bough some crafty things to start doing with him like construction paper and foam stickers, masks to decorate and pinwheels to put together and playdoh. That quiet, creative time is something I treasure.
